Flood Waters Inundate Slums and Fishing Villages

Those with the least, lose the most after four days of rain in eastern India.

Wading in hip high water, volunteers are delivering food to families trapped by flooding in eastern India. Today, Paparao Yeluchuri, Children’s Hope partner in India, cooked food and bought enough rice, bread, and milk for 1000 people. The Kakinada slums and poor rice farming villages are all under water after four days of heavy rain. A tropical system is expected to bring additional downpours Saturday night through Monday.
